A Man & His Car

Over the past month we had the privilege of getting to know Mr. Steve Rada. Steve stumbled into our shop one afternoon in early February. Neither of us could've know the relationship and connections that were about to unfold.

Almost immediately, Steve found a model car that we had only brought into the shop a few days before. Cathy, one of our wonderful owners, picked up the car at an auction, with all intents and purposes of keeping it. She then decided to put it in the shop for a nice display. Steve sat down with the car and asked the price. We sold his the gorgeous model car, and then came his story.

The model car was a 50's Citroen, the same car that Steve currently owns! Steve's '57 Citroen (a French car... shipped over to the States) was almost identical to the model car we had in the shop. Talk about coincidence! This initial connection spawned a relationship that we will remember and treasure for many years to come.

Over the next month, Steve stopped in periodically to chat or share a bottle of champagne. We learned about his 8-week vacation visiting his son here in Charleston, driving all the way from New Mexico. We heard about his food adventures and short stories during his vacation.

People like Steve are exactly why this type of business excites us. We want our pieces of furniture/home decor to be special to every single person that places it in their home. We appreciate the relationships we have built with our customers.

Steve was kind enough to send us photos of his car (he also PROMISED that if he brings it to Charleston he will give us a ride!!!).

^^^Steve's car willing the Legends Award at 2012 Sante Fe Concorso.

We LOVE his car and love that we had something that he will love for many years to come.

xo,

Cose Belle

  1. Hey I know that guy! He is at my house now!
Great story. Steve is in DC now with us, his son and his crazy family. All I have to say is that he didn't bring us champagne?
